Novel single nucleotide polymorphism biomarkers to predict opioid effects for cancer pain

چکیده
There have been few studies on predictive biomarkers that may be useful to select the most suitable opioids optimize therapeutic efficacy in individual patients with cancer pain. We recently investigated of morphine and oxycodone using single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) catechol‑O‑methyltransferase (COMT) rs4680 gene as a biomarker (RELIEF study). To explore additional enable selection an appropriate opioid for pain, three SNPs were examined: C‑C motif chemokine ligand 11 (CCL11; rs17809012), histamine N‑methyltransferase (HNMT; rs1050891) transient receptor potential V1 (TRPV1; rs222749), which screened from 74 pain‑related SNPs. These SNPs, identified being significantly associated analgesic effect morphine, then used genotype 135 RELIEF study who had randomized into group (n=69) or (n=66). The present assessed whether could also selective predict opioid(s) might provide pain relief cancer. Oxycodone tended superior effects over carrying AA CCL11 rs17809012 SNP (P=0.012 interaction), suggesting it serve personalized therapy suffering
